There are lots of ways to fold fat quarters, but I really love this one because the fabric stays folded even when my 4 little helpers at home pull them out to play.
My friend Kim, who owns the famous quilt shop, Valli & Kim’s in Dripping Springs, TX, showed me how they fold their fat quarters to keep their shop neat and tidy.
If you’re looking for an online shop to order modern fabric, check out Valli and Kim online. You get great, friendly Texas service (there’s no place friendlier than Texas quilt shops!) and excellent prices.

Valli and Kim is a great shop. The video tutorial on folding the fat quarter is very nice; I like the little pocket idea!
I spent a good part of Saturday organizing my stash. I had fat quarters that had come folded flat (not in cute bundles) that I needed to fold. I didn’t do it like this, but I’m headed back to my stash to re-do them “correctly”. Thanks!!
I really like the EPP designs – I haven’t done those before, but that looks like a really fun technique to try!
I follow your blog and am signed up with your facebook group (although, I have not participated yet…sorry life sometimes really throws a curve ball) but am trying to organize my enormous amount of fabric scraps. I did a search and yours was the first and so here I am.
Thank You ever so much for posting this video! I am in love with the way that the fat quarters become so small and perfectly the same size time and time again! This is going to be my go to method from now on! So much space is saved and they are perfect for stacking in small storage boxes! Have a fantastic creative day!
