Like many quilter-moms, I do my best work after 9 pm when nobody is asking for a snack, or if they can watch TV, or what happened to their missing sock. Thus the name... The Late Night Quilter. I've been quilting for four years, and it's safe to say I'm hooked. For life. My husband and I are raising our four kids, ages 7 and under in Austin, TX, with a fat bulldog-beagle, three bunnies, two birds and a fish. I began blogging as a way to connect with others who share this addiction to fabric, art and the need to create. I hope you enjoy taking a peek into my messy, beautiful, chaotic, creative world.

What a great gift to mentor folks! I wish I could participate. 1. I’m more of a traditional quilter. 2. I can’t find my camera now. 3. I’m not an active blogger. Maybe if you do it again next year, I’ll be ready and more modern as a “mature woman.”

Also, I called my bestest quilting buddess and talked to her about her granddaughters helping us make hexie pincushions this summer and she seemed very excited. One likes to quilt and one would probably be better and turning and stuffing and we’ll do the handwork. Great way to keep the girls around our crafting. I’d invite my granddaughter – she’s actually a step and doesn’t visit me and she lives 2.5 hours away so it’s not convenient. However she actually took some sewing in school in 7th grade this year and had to show her pincushion and machine embroidered pillow when I visited week before last while Mom was gone.

Thanks for all you do for the quilting community.

This is exactly what I needed to find today! Thank you! I started my blog at the end of April so any sort of help is much appreciated!

I am really excited to see how this year takes shape, Stephanie! It is really hard to believe the difference a year can make and how big a part of that was my experience in the blog hop last year. 🙂

So glad the mentoring continues, thanks ladies. It’s fun to see just how many of the alumni from last year and before I already follow and admire.

I believe in finding simple ways to work creativity into your life. Make something beautiful each day and embrace imperfection. One tiny row of stitches, made with intent and delight, can carry you through the day.
