Throw Pillows with Art Gallery Fabrics’ Letters Capsule

April 20, 2017
Art Gallery makes one of my favorite fabrics to sew with… and it happens to be a fabric that my kids love too because unlike most quilting cottons, it feels incredibly soft and luxurious.
My friend Mathew (Mister Domestic) sent me some Art Gallery fabric from the new Letters capsule and gave me permission to make anything I wanted!  So I spent a couple of days this week sewing throw pillows (with simple envelope backs and french seams) to brighten up my family room.
The Letters capsule is a bright, happy take on language and love. It’s quirky and light, which makes it the perfect collection to decorate my house, which is full of laughter, messes, noise, and lots of love.
Because all you need is love, right?

I quilted a free motion design on each pillow; the quilting adds some of my own personality to the mix and will lend durability to the pillows (they certainly will take a beating in my home with the number of children that come and go each day.)

A monochromatic palette and beautiful lighting brings elegance to any room.
This understated text print called Love Meaning is my favorite in the whole collection.

And Xs and Os…, well, who doesn’t love those?

Sometimes I long for bright color around the house, and the Letters capsule delivers vibrant raspberry, canary yellow, and bright blue alongside the tame neutrals. So if you make a throw pillow from each print, you can mix and match and move the pillows around your house to suit your mood.

Beautiful pillows! Keeping it simple with the fabric choices really allows the quilting to stand out. Your photograph is wonderful too!

I sure would love to be sitting on your sofa enjoying a cup of tea and a chat with you while snuggled into these pillows, Stephanie! Beautiful work and I love the pops of color.

You can never have too many throw pillows — unless you’re married to my husband — and then it’s a constant battle. But I love them! They look great and I completely agree, you can move them around to suit your mood and add different pops of color. Love you photographs as well!
