Thanks to all who entered to win a Quilter’s Planner last week! The winner is #33, Maryellen.
It’s almost 2016, and I love thinking about what projects I want to take on this year. Of course, I’m excited to get back to my longarm; we’ve been separated for far too long. Finishing up The Quilters Planner for the year has been a massive commitment, and I have so many longarming projects I am desperate to finish. I can’t wait to share a few with you in the upcoming weeks.
At the top of my list of things to do in 2016 is to participate in Amy Garro’s Tribal Block Club (Her Blog is called 13 Spools).
If you sign up before January 1st, you’ll get the early bird price of $29. After that, it’s $39. The class starts on the 15th. (You can purchase here!)
Are there any friends out there who want to do this with me? It’s so much more fun when we create together, and then share all our different visions of the blocks and patterns. That’s one of my favorite things about participating in programs like this. It’s the basis of our whole quilting community.
Every single block carries a piece of the soul of the quilter who made it. It’s more than just fabric and thread. The fabrics, colors and designs we choose reflect our personal idiosyncracies, moods and life experiences. Sharing our creations with one another is about being open and vulnerable, bringing us closer together with our friends who embrace the unique spark within each of us.
