A Rainbow in My Mailbox

June 26, 2016

Sealed with a Kiss by Kaufman 800 x 800

It’s time to show off a little Sunday Stash!  Last month, I opened the mailbox, dreading the bills and junkmail, only to find a surprise package from my friend Stephanie from the podcast Modern Sewciety.  I taped a podcast with Stephanie a few months ago, and she sent me this bundle as a sweet thank you.  Stephanie, I adore you; there’s nothing better than a thank you made of fabric!!!

Receiving a rainbow in your mailbox has got to be one of the best feelings in the world. Especially on a day when you have four sick children, a travelling husband, a broken air conditioner, a dog that needs to go to the vet, and 3 quilts due.

I looked up the fabric, and I *think* it’s mostly  a line called Sealed with A Kiss by Laurie Wisbrun for Robert Kaufman, and the gorgeous triangle print is Rainbow Remix from Ann Kelle.

So what should I make???  I have a month left of intense deadlines to finish up quilting several of the quilts that will appear in the 2017 Quilter’s Planner (stay tuned for an info packed post about that really soon!).  And after that, I’m going to treat myself to some soul-filling, non-rushed, no-deadline, simple piecing.  Do you have any ideas for me???

I love the no rush, no deadline, no stress projects. Sometimes you HAVE to make time for them. For me that means dumping my scrap bins on my bed and just sewing bits together and then cutting blocks out once they get big enough. One day it will be a quilt, but … no rush. 🙂
    And CONGRATS to the winners!
